CONJONCTIVIT TREATMENT<\/span><\/h1>\n

Eye<\/span> The thin membrane consisting of the mucosa that connects the eyelids to the eyeball and\ncovers the back of the eyelids and the anterior part of the eyeball is called conjunctiva.\nInflammation of conjunctiva is called conjunctivitis.<\/span><\/p>\n

The white part of the eye is called the sclera, and the conjunctival layer covers the sclera\nas a thin membrane.<\/span><\/p>\n

What are the Causes of Conjunctivitis?<\/span><\/h2>\n

Conjunctivitis can occur due to bacteria, viruses, allergies or poor living conditions (air\npollution). Due to the fact that the conjunctiva is a thin layer, it may be reddened by the\neffect of each of the reasons listed above. In general, conjunctivitis caused by infection\nleads redness in the eyes and mattery discharge with the presence of an acute infection.\nIn this case, an ophthalmologist's examination is necessary to prevent progression of the\ndisease and start treatment.<\/span><\/p>\n<\/div>\n<\/div>\n

While some of the viral conjunctivitis cause symptoms only in the eyes and some also\nshow symptoms in the throat and nose. Watery discharge is more common in\nconjunctivitis caused by viruses. Bacterial and viral conjunctivitis can infect other\nindividuals by mutual use of personal items. In conjunctivitis caused by an allergic\nreaction itching occurs besides watering and redness. Cigarette smoke and air pollution\ncan be stated as other causes of conjunctivitis.<\/span><\/p>\n

Conjunctiva faces many environmental factors due to its location. Various mechanisms of\nour body protect the conjunctiva and eye surface. The aqueous layer of tears dilutes the\nexisting infection in the eye. Continuous mechanical cleaning process is carried out\ntowards the tear ducts with a pumping action of the tear ducts. On the other hand,\nmicrobial cleansing is provided by the lysozyme and antibodies (IgA and IgG) in tears.<\/span><\/p>\n

      Conjunctivitis Treatment<\/span><\/h2>\n

      Different treatment plans are determined by ophthalmologists depending on different\ncauses of conjunctivitis . In conjunctivitis caused by bacterial infections, topical\napplication and immediate eye drops are preferred. However, in advanced bacterial\nconjunctivitis, the ophthalmologist may prescribe a systemic oral or parenteral antibiotic.\nOn the other hand, in allergic conjunctivitis, antihistaminic or corticosteroid\neye drops are preferred by physicians.<\/span><\/p>\n<\/div>\n
