CATARACT SURGERY<\/span>\u00a0CATARACT TREATMENT<\/span><\/h1>\n

Cataract is the loss of transparency of our eyes\u2019 natural lenses. It can be seen at any age.\nThe most common type appears as age-related cataracts after the age of 55. Since cataract\ntreatment is not possible with drugs, surgical operation (Phacoemulsification) or laser\noperation (Femtosecond Laser) is required.<\/span><\/p>\n

Cataract symptoms include blurred and hazy vision. Patients with cataract may feel like\nthey look through a dirty glass window, start to need eyeglasses. They might stop the need\nfor reading glasses by being able to see near. Light sensitivity is another symptom for\ncataract. In addition, some types of cataract can cause an increase in eye pressure and\ncause the development of glaucoma.<\/span><\/p>\n

Today, there are two types of technology-supported methods used in cataract surgery;<\/span><\/p>\n

\u00a0Phacoemulsification<\/span><\/h2>\n

Dry macular degeneration is a common eye disorder among people over 50. It causes\nblurred or reduced central vision, due to thinning of the macula.\nThe most commonly used method to treat this disorder works on the principle of melting\ncataract tissue with ultrasonic sound waves. With the Phacoemulsification technique,\napproximately 2.5 mm corneal incision is made in the eye and no stitches are made. It is\na method that requires an experienced surgeon.<\/span><\/p>\n

\u00a0Femtosecond Laser<\/span><\/h2>\n

Since it is a new technological development, it is less common in developed countries in\nthe world. Technological developments and the experience gained by operator doctors\nshow us that Femtosecond Laser will become the priority choice in cataract treatment.<\/span><\/p>\n<\/div>\n<\/div>\n

Femtosecond Laser has some differences from the other techniques. In this technique,\nlaser incision is made instead of a blade incision. The surgeon does not need to open the\ncataract capsule. The capsule is opened smoothly with laser. Cataract tissue is divided\ninto pieces by laser (Fragmentation). In addition, since ultrasound energy is not used,\nthere is no risk of tissue damage. The disadvantage of this technique is that it is not\nsuitable for all types of eye and cannot be used at every cataract level.<\/span><\/p>\n

An important decision needs to be made before performing cataract operations, the\nselection of the artificial lens to be installed in place of the lens removed from the eye.\nMore than twenty thousand cataract operations have been performed in the last decade\nby the highly experience doctors of HealthTourismCenterTurkey. PHACOEMULSIFICATION AND FEMTOSECOND LASER METHODS IN CATARACT\nOPERATIONS<\/span><\/h2>\n

Cataract surgeries are undoubtedly the most common surgical procedures applied to\npatients today. With the advancing technological possibilities, needle-free and seamless\nmethods are commonly used in cataract surgical procedures.<\/span><\/p>\n

PHACOEMULSIFICATION METHOD<\/span><\/h2>\n

The procedure is based on the principle of breaking up the hardened cataract lens using ultrasound (sound) waves and removing it from the eye with the help of fluid. It is important that this procedure is performed by physicians who have advanced their skills in advanced phacoemulsification techniques. The application does not require sutures, but 2.5 mm surgical incisions are made using a blade.<\/span><\/p>\n

LASER CATARACT SURGERY<\/span><\/h2>\n

Lenses that allow us to see far distance only are called monofocal (single focal) lenses.\nBifocal lenses enable us to see distance and near. Trifocal lenses enable us to see far,\nmiddle and near distance. Bifocal and trifocal lens applications provide the opportunity to\nlive without glasses.<\/span><\/p>\n
