PRK LASEK APPLICATION<\/span><\/h1>\n

No incision is applied to the cornea. Only the epithelial tissue at the top of the cornea is\npeeled off and the laser is applied directly to the patient's cornea. Contact lenses are worn\nfor 1-2 days after the operation to protect the corneal surface.<\/span><\/p>\n

  • \u00a0Can be applied to relatively thin corneas.<\/span><\/li>\n

  • \u00a0It does not cause dry eye disease.<\/span><\/li>\n

    • \u00a0Decreased corneal resistance, although biomechanical integrity is preserved.<\/span><\/li>\n
    • \u00a0Pain for 3-5 days after surgery, stinging, watering, visual deficiency complaints,\nworkforce loss, long period of time to return to social life<\/span><\/li>\n
    • \u00a0Patient satisfaction is low in low number myopia.<\/span><\/li>\n
    • \u00a0The risk of haze (clouding in the cornea) in myopes greater than 5.0.<\/span><\/li>\n
    • \u00a0Inability to do hyperopia and astigmatism greater than 2.<\/span><\/li>\n
    • \u00a0High risk of infection.<\/span><\/li>\n
    • \u00a0Long period of time to reach clear vision (3-4 weeks).<\/span><\/li>\n<\/ul>\n
