EXCIMER LASER TREATMENT<\/span><\/h1>\n

Excimer Laser is a laser technology developed for the correction of myopia, hyperopia,\nand astigmatism through the cornea which is the outermost layer of the eye. Intraocular\nlens applications are alternative methods for people who are not suitable for Excimer Laser\ntreatment.<\/span><\/p>\n

WHO IS ELIGIBLE FOR EXCIMER LASER EYE SURGERY?<\/span><\/h2>\n

Patients 18 years old and older, whose eye-glasses number has not changed more than 0.5\ndiopter in the last year, who have myopia up to 12 diopters (number), astigmatism up to 6\ndiopters (number), hyperopia up to 6 diopters. Corneal structure must be examined to\nmake sure a patient is eligible for Excimer Laser Surgery<\/span><\/p>\n

PRE-EXAMINATIONS FOR EXCIMER LASER EYE SURGERY<\/span><\/h2>\n

Certain examinations and measurements are required before Excimer Laser Surgery.\nVisual acuity is measured with eye-glasses and contact lenses. Computerized eye exam is\nperformed to determine the exact eye numbers. Biomicroscopy: The eye is examined in\ndetail with a microscope. Cornea map examination and corneal thickness measurement are\nperformed with corneal topography. The level of small optical irregularities that impair\nvision quality called \u201caberrations\" are acquired with wavefront analysis . After measuring\nthe intraocular pressure and pupil width, dilated fundus examination (DFE) is performed\nby expanding the pupil to examine the retina (nerve) layer of the eye. Finally, dry eye test\nis performed to determine whether the eye produces enough tears to keep it moist. A\nSpecialist has the ultimate decision on the patient\u2019s eligibility for Excimer Laser Surgery\nand the operation phase is started.<\/span><\/p>\n<\/div>\n<\/div>\n

PRECAUTIONS AFTER EXCIMER LASER EYE SURGERY<\/span><\/h1>\n

It is important that you take the medication prescribed by your physician in a timely\nmanner and in the recommended dosage. Bandage is not applied after Excimer Laser\nSurgery. It is sufficient to wear your protective glasses for the specified time (usually 1\nday). After Excimer Laser Surgery, avoid having make-up, swimming, visiting sauna and\nsolarium and such activities for the period of time specified by your physician.<\/span><\/p>\n<\/div>\n
