NO TOUCH LASER APPLICATION

No incision is applied in the cornea. The laser is directly applied without removing the epithelial tissue of the cornea. Precision in the vision correction diminishes due to the differences between the thickness of the corneal epithelium of the patients.

 ADVANTAGES

• Budget friendly.
• Can be applied to relatively thin corneas.
• No risk of increasing intraocular pressure.
• No damage on the corneal sensory nerves.
• No risk for dry eye disease.
• Preserving the biomechanical integrity of the cornea.
• DISADVANTAGES
• Reduced corneal resistance, although biomechanical integrity is preserved.
• Pain, stinging, watering and visual deficiency complaints, workforce loss, longer recovery time to return to social life (3-5 days)
• Lower satisfaction for the patients with low myopia.
• Risk of haze (clouding of the cornea) in myopia higher than 5.0.
• Inability to make corrections on hyperopia and astigmatism higher than 2.
• High risk of infection.
• It takes 3-4 weeks to have clear vision.
