FEMTOLASIK APPLICATION
The femtosecond laser creates millions of air bubbles beneath the surface of the cornea within seconds and a flap is created. The flap is easily lifted by the treating doctor and Excimer laser is then performed to re-shape the surface of the cornea. The flap is then put back into place and seals by itself
ADVANTAGES
- As soon as the laser application is completed, the patient has adequate vision.
- Pain, burning, and stinging are not seen or seen for a very short time.
- Prevention of workforce loss.
- Corrections are possible for high diopters.
DISADVANTAGES
- Inability to apply to thin corneas.
- Provides susceptibility to dry eye disease.
- Alterations on corneal biomechanics.
- Reducing the corneal resistance.
- Temporary increase of intraocular pressure.
FEMTOSECOND LASER SURGERY FOR CATARACT
Corneal incisions and incision of the lens capsule are made with this laser system. The fragmentation of the lens is achieved by laser cuts. Since patients are not exposed to ultrasound vibrations, the structures of the eye other than cataracts are not adversely affected by the application. Tissue damage is not seen. It is a bladeless, sutureless and painless method.
