FFA
FFA (FUNDUS FLUORESCEIN ANGIOGRAPHY) - EYE ANGIOGRAPHY
It is a diagnostic method that enables the imaging of the vessels in the back of the eye using a drug called fluorescein.
Technique: The pupil is enlarged with eye drops. Fluorescein medication is injected intravenously on the patient's arm or hand. The drug reaches the eye veins and provides visibility of the veins. A large number of images are taken with a special camera. It is evaluated whether there is a problem in the eye vessels by looking at these images.
Application areas of FFA:
- Intraocular hemorrhages due to diabetes
- Retinal vascular occlusion
- Age related macular degeneration
- Intraocular tumors
Post-FFA:
- The eye drops used to dilate the eye cause blurred vision for a while.
- Short-term discoloration can be seen in the skin, tongue and urine.
